The Ochsenturm is a former church in the municipality of Imsum. The tower can today be used as a lookout tower overlooking the mouth of the Weser and the port of Bremerhaven. Admission is free, but it is asked for a donation to the preservation of the tower.

About the reason why the church was built so far away on the dike, and so far away from the devotees in Weddewarden and things, there is an old story in the land Wursten:

In ancient times, the oracle of two oxen, one each of things and Weddewarden, decided the dispute of the churches over the site of the common church. Where the bound animals would run, the new church was to be built. The inhabitants of each of the two communities nourished their oxen properly, but one day before the oracle day the animals had to starve. The inhabitants of the two communities rivaling the site thought: Where our ox has been fed, it will run.

When the animals had been tied together, all the inhabitants of both communities loudly cheered the hungry animals. The oxen were so panicked that they quickly took off. After eating a copious grass meal on the way, they put down their ruminations. That was there behind the dike, where the ox tower still stands today.
