The De la Gardie castle
Castle Läckö got its present form from its son, Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie. 1654 began the extensive construction work. The magnificent halls with their murals and ceiling decorations were mostly created in the second half of the 17th century.
In the heyday of De la Gardie Castle, as Läckö Castle is sometimes called, 300 people lived here. Here they brewed their own beer and stored large quantities of wine from the continent. a. from the Rhine.
Today you can celebrate Midsummer, visit exhibitions, listen to operas, take part in castle tours, go swimming or pedal boating (the pedal boats look like swans).
Near the castle there is a campsite (with cheap Quick Stop for campers between 21 and 9 o'clock), a guest harbor, a bathing place with bicycle, paddle boat and kayak rental and finally a tour boat, the M / S Gabriel.
