    The NSG Schönecker Schweiz is a special kind of hiking area, where large areas of wild garlic cover the forest in spring and spread an intense scent or the Märzenbecher can often be found during the flowering period. A great experience to hike there for the eyes, ears and nose.

                        The Schönecker Schweiz is the part of the Prüm Limestone Basin that has been under nature protection since 1991 and still shows natural or near-natural features of the limestone basin landscape.[1] With 865 hectares, the largest nature reserve in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate extends over parts of the districts of Schönecken, Niederhersdorf, Oberhersdorf, Giesdorf, Rommersheim, Fleringen and Wallersheim.[1] The legal regulation states the purpose of protection
