The idyllic Ölschnitzsee near Steinbach am Wald is a popular destination. The reservoir was created by the district of Kronach between 1984 and 1986. It is up to 270 meters long and 100 meters wide - that makes a total area of 2.1 hectares. The maximum depth of the reservoir is six meters. In summer, visitors can eat in a hut by the lake. A beautiful terrace invites you to linger there. You can enjoy the nature of the Franconian Forest on a circular path around the lake.

You can comfortably ride the pedal boat over the water or refresh yourself while swimming. On the shore, it is easy to relax and sunbathe.
