The villa was built in the 2nd century AD and measured 110 by 28 meters. Based on its size and furnishings, it is assumed to have served as the retirement home of a high-ranking official from the nearby Augusta Treverorum (Trier).

Remains of the villa's walls were discovered in 1984 during land consolidation work. They were excavated, preserved, and the buildings partially reconstructed. Part of the former side wing with bathing facilities, consisting of a caldarium (hot bath), tepidarium (warm bath), sudatorium (sweat bath), frigidarium (cold bath), and praefurnium (fire chamber), is open to visitors. The Roman Villa Longuich
Remains of walls were first discovered during land consolidation in 1984. A closer investigation in 1986 uncovered the eastern enclosure wall of a large Roman estate, two additional outbuildings whose function is unclear, and the eastern side wing of a villa urbana. The large structure was presumably built towards the end of the 2nd century AD.

An information panel provides further information about the villa and shows the original dimensions of the imposing building.

Further information panels are located inside the arcades.

Guided tours of the villa take place on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. from May to October; other dates can be arranged by appointment.

The Villa Urbana in Longuich is a Roman villa urbana built on the site of an older villa rustica. Parts of the villa were excavated and reconstructed in Longuich/Mosel on the "Roman Wine Route."

The villa was built in the 2nd century AD and measured 110 by 28 meters. Based on its size and furnishings, it is assumed that it served as the retirement home of a high-ranking official from the nearby Augusta Treverorum (Trier).

Remains of the villa's walls were discovered in 1984 during land consolidation work. They were excavated, preserved, and the buildings partially reconstructed. Part of the former side wing with a bathing complex consisting of a caldarium (hot bath), tepidarium (warm bath), sudatorium (sweat bath), frigidarium (cold bath), and praefurnium (heating chamber) is open to visitors.

In addition to the villa, the excavations also uncovered the remains of other buildings, primarily serving agricultural purposes. A stone sarcophagus containing the skeleton of a teenage girl was also discovered.
