Deep in the dense undergrowth you suddenly come across a challenge on your hiking trail! Fortunately, you can cross the narrow Strijbeekse Beek via a narrow bridge. Once on the other side you know at the border post that you have crossed the border safely. Every smuggler has been reminded of this since 1843 - 1844... Still a place to contemplate...

Beautiful 100% unpaved surface. With many frog ponds, beautiful views.
You can split this walk into 8 km (smuggling path) and 4.5 km (red signage).
The signage is perfectly placed.
Personally, the smuggling path is the most beautiful and the red one less interesting.
For someone like me who goes hiking at least once a week, this one was one of the nicer hikes.
If you can, start with the smuggler, where the starting point of my walk was and (free) parking is provided
