Bartolomeo Colleoni was a famous Venetian commander of mercenary troops. His monument, standing on the square. Aviators, is a faithful copy of the Renaissance original. He lived in Warsaw for many years, and in 2002 he returned to Szczecin.

The monument depicts the famous Venetian condottiere (commander of mercenary troops who formed the army at his own expense). It is one of the most impressive copies of the most famous Renaissance works. The original was made by Andrea del Verrocchio. The copy was created for the Szczecin City Museum in 1913. After the war, the monument was donated to Warsaw to support the destroyed capital. It took its place there in the courtyard of the Academy of Fine Arts. He returned to Szczecin only in 2002. In 2009, it was renovated and the weapon, held in his right hand, was recovered.
