The lower part of the southern ascent to the Col du Chasseral from Nods first leads through the village of Nods and then with a moderate gradient through the forest to the turnoff towards Sapin.
From here the gradient begins to increase significantly to 12%.

Comfortable climb through shady forest and moderate gradient.
