The Grünten is the so-called local mountain and namesake of our Alpsee-Grünten holiday region. He is also affectionately called "The Guardian of the Allgäu", and that is also justified. From the 1,738 meter high mountain you have a fantastic 360 degree view of all corners of the Allgäu and the Allgäu mountains. A very special distinguishing feature on the Grünten is the 94.5 meter high transmission mast of the Bavarian radio. Not only this mast ensures recognition value, also the hunting memorial, which is located east of the transmitter mast. It is reminiscent of the Jägergebirg troops (former 3-man hunters) who fell in World War I.
