The so-called picture oak is a natural monument at the hiking car park near Birklingen. On the old oak tree hangs an image of the 14 helpers in need. The age of the oak is controversial, but the tree is estimated to be around 450 years.
The distinctive tree also made it an important stop for the Iphöfer on their pilgrimage to Vierzehnheiligen. In 1897 the pilgrimage congregation donated a large wooden plaque to the city with the representation of the 14 helpers and a shepherd under a triangular tin roof. In 1911 and the 1950s the picture was renovated.
