The highest point in the city (and geographic centre as well as a plate on the top claims) provides a superb view over the forbidden city. The park requires 10 RMB entrance fee, but the view is really worth it as it is one of the few places providing a good measure of the dimension of the palace area.

Also called Jingshan Park, this elevation on the north side of the Imperial Palace is virtually the continuation of it. From above beautiful view over the Forbidden City and the whole of Beijing.

You walk through the beautifully landscaped Jingshan Park up the hill (almost 100 meters above sea level) with the Wanchun Pavilion at its highest point. From there, you have a very good view of the Forbidden City.
