There's only two times a year that you can ride your bike up the Auto Route to the top of Mt Washington (the Hill Climb & Practice Hill Climb), otherwise it's shut to bikes. But this stop on Rt 16, just north of Pinkham Notch is a good breakpoint, with refueling if you need it, toilets, and view of the Rockpile.

Open twice a year to bicycles. "Newton's Revenge" normally in July, and the full Autoroad Race, normally in the middle of August.
Yes, you have to sign up to compete in these two events, but, yes, you will love it and yes, you will hate it at the same time. And there is nothing else like it in the country.... 12% for 7.5 miles, finishing in the clouds and crowds at 20%.
