              Wulkow comes from the Wendish language and means "wolf." Since wolves were once common in the forests of Brandenburg, it's not surprising that there were several Wulkows in eastern Brandenburg.

              Located in the village of Wulkow near Neuhardenberg, the castle, which belonged to the noble von Scharpeloh family from the 13th century onwards and frequently changed hands until World War II, was used as a hospital, refugee shelter, and also for training courses for various industrial complexes during the GDR era.

              In 1992, the castle was acquired by a hotelier family and restored for 8 million DM. A hotel with 48 rooms, a restaurant, and leisure facilities was created. Located on the edge of Märkische Schweiz, the castle is the perfect place to celebrate the most beautiful weddings, with a champagne reception in the banquet hall or the historic library.
