If you don't want to be in the pulpit with 100,000 people, get going early. Early doesn't mean 8:00 or something like that. I left with my wife at 4:00 today, 10 years ago, in sunny weather, we left at 3:00. The sunrise over the fjord hangs big in the apartment. It's worth starting early, even if word has gotten around in the meantime.

Really beautiful natural spectacle and definitely worth a hike despite the many people. Best possible not in the nicest weather and on weekends, even if it is tempting.

It was a strenuous hike for us, but after the sun had licked up the fog halfway through, the effort was almost forgotten. Many different languages and nations met here and all had the same goal. At the top then the usual photos and a snack break and after an hour we went back. The descent was exhausting again and we had to be careful not to make any mistakes because our condition was gone. A very nice hike.
