The majestic castle was built in its current form between 1847 and 1852 and was designed by the architect Pierre-Charles Dusillion, who trained at the Paris Ecole des Beaux-Arts. The magnificent complex with its castle park right on the lake shore is considered one of the most important works of romantic historicism in Switzerland. The city of Thun has owned the castle since 1925, which now houses a chic restaurant and hotel. You can find all information at schloss-schadau.ch/de.

Schadau Castle was built as a summer residence between 1846 and 1852 and is now a building of national importance. Today it belongs to the city of Thun and is a 3 * hotel, houses the gastronomy museum and an excellent restaurant.
In addition to the special atmosphere of a historical building, in good weather it offers a breathtaking view of the Alps with the famous three-man team Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
