    The oak, some of which is already half dead, is said to be around 1,000 years old. It was fenced in so that visitors cannot get too close as there is a risk of dead branches falling off. It has a tree trunk diameter of approx. 13 meters. Impressive sight. There are a few benches with tables in front of her.

          The Rumskullaeken (after the village Rumskulla) or Kvilleken (after the hamlet Norra Kvill) is a pedunculate oak near the National Park Norra Kvill in Småland in Sweden. Their age is estimated at 900 [1] to over 1000 years [2].

          With its circumference of 13 to 14.75 meters in breast height, the Kvilleken is considered the oldest and largest tree in Sweden and one of, if not the thickest, oak in Europe. [1] [2] The trunk is half dead. This part is attached to the rest of the trunk with ropes. The area directly around the tree is fenced.

          The Kvilleken was first mentioned in writing in 1772 by Magnus Gabriel Craelius in the book Försök till ett landskaps beskrivning.
