The chateau was built in 1815-1819 in classical style according to the plans of Mihály Pollack of the Festetics family. It stands and listed and is located in a 25-acre, protected English park. Here grow numerous plants; On the island, which is surrounded by the longest lily ponds of Hungary, stands the famous Dutch house. The castle has been partially renovated and has been reopened to visitors since 2008. During the season, the castle arranges concerts, exhibitions and various events.
