It is no longer the original collection that gave the butterfly nest its name. Unfortunately it is missing. The insect and butterfly archive from the Märkisches Museum can be seen, made available as a permanent loan. But that is also very interesting.
Butterfly nest worth again. However, the number of visitors as in GDR times will no longer reach the restaurant. On nice days, all the excursion restaurants around the Müggelberge were really full. Sometimes you had to wait a while before you got a seat. Restaurants can only dream of that today.
But the snack bar is good and, as far as I know, you can also rent the hall for celebrations.

We had registered for the afternoon arrival and were surprised by the hospitality in the butterfly nest. After the other somewhat more expensive offers at the Müggelturm and before that at the rübezahl, there were no draft beers available, but nice and friendly people with reasonable prices at work. And the sausages were freshly warmed up and tasted good. All in all, the best stop on the long day!
