This church has stood in Roßtal for around 1,000 years. It is typically made of sandstone for the region. Over the centuries, something has been added or repaired over and over again, which is why you can recognize different stylistic epochs: Some components come from the Romanesque, others like the tower from the Gothic. Its interior is also worth seeing and differs from many other churches: the ceiling is quite low for a church and clad with wood. There is also a two-story gallery on one side of the nave.

The Evangelical Lutheran St. Laurentius Church has shaped the architectural image of the Franconian market in Roßtal for around 1,000 years. The mighty structure that visitors can see today clearly shows architectural styles from different eras. The altar from the late 17th century has a predella with a free-sculpture crucifixion group. The sandstone pulpit probably dates from 1627 and has a sound cover with rocaille carving from after the middle of the 18th century. The baptismal font was created towards the end of the 15th century and has a setting probably from 1630. A wooden figure of St. Lawrence also dates from the end of the 15th century. A painting in a three-part, altar-like aedicula structure is marked with the year 1524. The Reformation painting shows an interesting depiction of the distribution of the Lord's Supper by Luther and Melanchthon to the Protestant princes. An epitaph painting was created in 1693. Among the numerous epitaphs, the one for Pastor Neff († 1512) is particularly noteworthy. At the end of the choir there is a Mount of Olives housing with faded wall paintings; the rustic figures were created around 1500.

The organ is the work of E. F. Walcker & Cie. from 1973 with 28 registers on two manuals and pedal.
