Most of the paved roads in the Winsener March were created due to the dike construction. This is how the many ponds came to be and since there is little agricultural traffic, all the birds, cyclists and some hikers are happy.

Much has been taken from nature, but some of it gets back. The Kleientnahmestellen are suddenly a new habitat. A pair of binoculars is worthwhile.

The ponds and the surrounding area are a true paradise for birds. Here you can see what nature conservation and animal welfare can mean. The chattering of geese and the chirping of birds is impressive. For me this is a real highlight.
