    Coverack is a traditional fishing village that has a stunning beach and a beautiful harbour. Steeped in Cornish history, the tiny settlement has a colourful past as a smugglers’ haunt. Some of the cottages are said to still have secret passages and cellars from their smuggling days.

          Coverack is one of my favourite places, it never seems to get too busy, there’s absolutely stunning views, there is a windsurfing and Kayak hire centre, a great pub, friendly locals....... the list just goes on and on.

            Lovely old fishing village where I felt very relaxed after a week of hiking on the Coast Path. The Life Boat House is now a Fish & Chip shop with dine in and takeaway (only takeaway available when I was there due to you know what)…they serve beer and wine too.

              The clocks are slower in Coverack, too, as in many small towns and villages in the south of England. But one can not take the Briton, his tea time. Therefore, there are probably more cafés on site than pubs ... A notorious specialty that you should definitely try in Cornwall are home-made scones with clotted cream and jam.

              Especially delicious ice cream is available in Café Archie's Loft right next to the harbor. In addition to ice cream, there are also home-baked cakes, sandwiches, salads, various coffees ... every day from 12 to 17 o'clock. And all prepared with local ingredients at a reasonable price.

                Stopped at Loft Cafe in late May 2022 on WKW cycle. Proper coffee & great cakes. Super friendly too. It's a slog to the Slice of Cornwall, the next obvious stop on the route, so well worth stopping at the Loft first.

                  I can recommend the Life Boat House fish and chip shop for a tasty meal. At the moment you can only have takeaway but there are tables outside the shop which you can use. The food is delicious and as a bonus they have a bar so you can have beer or wine with your meal. Photo added.
