In the green surroundings of this chapel there is a Marian park with 22 chapels, fifteen of which depict the mysteries of the rosary and the others the Seven Woes. There you will also find the Kalvarieberg with cross.

The 12th-century chapel of the lords of Wedergraete was located on this site, which is not surprising since the original core of the village was also located here.
Initially it was a full-fledged parish church, but already in the 13th century this place became a place of pilgrimage and it still is today. The chapel was renovated in the 17th and 18th centuries, and it was not until 1932 that it got its present appearance.
Inside, behind an iron gate, there is a 16th-century polychrome statue of Our Lady with the motto "In Ligno Salus" ("in the wood of the cross one finds salvation") in the coat of arms above it (not visible from the chapel). . It was therefore the motto of Egidius Van Linthout, abbot of Sint-Jacob-op-deCoudenberg in 1665, who donated the niche in which the statue is located.
