When almost the entire city of Most had to give way to lignite mining in the 1970s, the church was also in danger. Therefore, in 1975, it was moved to a safe place. The procession of the church began on 30 September 1975 and lasted until 27 October. During this time she covered exactly a distance of 841.1 meters. The transport was a daring and technically highly interesting undertaking. With the help of a hydraulic undercarriage, which compensated for height variations of the church that arose on rough terrain, hydraulic cylinders and a complicated steel construction, the church was moved to its new location at an average speed of 2.16 cm per minute. There it was rebuilt and restored until 1988.
