The historically important Margaret Island lies in the center of Budapest, the Danube flows around it. Except for public transport it is forbidden to enter any motorized vehicle, but it is possible to name it an island of rest and sports. The island has a wide range of visitor attractions: the Palatinus beach (open from spring to autumn), the Hajós Alfréd swimming pool, where the Olympic gold medalist regularly trains the Hungarian water polo team, the small animal park, the ruins of the Dominican nunnery, the Japanese garden with the Turtles, the 5-kilometer Joggingszone around the island, several famous restaurants, two luxurious thermal hotels and the rose garden are just some of the attractions of the island. Throughout the year many cyclists and families with small children can be found here. On hot summer days the beaches and swimming pools are full, but many enjoy relaxing next to the biggest fountain in Budapest, which is near the Margaret Bridge - it plays pleasant music every half hour. The Margaret Island is bordered from the south by the Margaret Bridge, from the north by the Árpád Bridge (the longest bridge of Budapest).

On Margaret Island there is something for everyone. Quiet little corners min park, a Japanese garden, colorful Wasserfontainen with loud music, 4-person bike rental and also for the physical well-being is taken care of. All in the immediate city center
