Finchdean is a hamlet just north of Rowlands Castle in the South Downs National Park. Every building seems to have stepped out of the past and you'll find a historic pound here, a place where stray animals were kept until their owners were found. If you're hiking in the area and are after some lunch, check out the George Pub.

Nestled just north of Rowlands Castle, Finchdean is a charming hamlet where every building has a timeless charm. There is still a blacksmiths here now.

On the green there is a pleasant rest area with seating. This is where the village animal pound/jail once stood.
