The sailing cross stands at the tip of the old arm of the Weser at the Ritzenbütteler Sand. It was made from steel in the training workshop at Abeking & Rasmussen based on a design by Wolfgang Heidenhuber. The pilgrim's stamp is in a box. It is best to bring your own stamp pad if you want to stamp your souvenir here.

The pilgrimage route is 65 kilometers long. It leads through different landscapes and is particularly inviting to explore - even in stages - by bike. Its course is marked by small signs with the logo of the pilgrimage route. The route can also be called up as a so-called GPS track.

In the municipality of Lemwerder, the five stations of the Ritzenbüttel Sailing Cross, Chapel on the Dike, Holy Spirit Church, Altenesch Arched Cross and St. Gallus Church invite you to stay and visit. At each station there is an opportunity to rest on a bench, let your gaze wander, admire a church or the individually designed crosses. Pilgrim passports and an ink pad are available in small wooden boxes. This is how the visit to the station can be documented. The idea for the ecumenical pilgrimage was born back in 2012. The background was common divine services on Ascension Day, which have linked the congregations for years. Often used on farms as an open-air offer, many of the worshipers came by bike and enjoyed the holiday tour through the nature, which was mostly already developing in spring.
