This is where the Orb rises, which is just eleven kilometers long and flows into the Kinzig. There are a lot of springs in the area, actually six in all. One of them is called the "Saustallquelle" because the animals were only allowed to drink from it. Attention: no drinking water!

The Spessartspur starts at the "An der Orbquelle" car park and initially leads uphill into the Spessartwald near Lettgenbrunn. A highlight is the "Madstein" natural monument, where seating and an information board offer space for further education. The Spessart trail continues to the "Hohen Berg" at 520 meters. Then it goes downhill again and back to the headwaters of the Orb.

The Orb does not become a big river on its 11km to the confluence with the Kinzig. Nevertheless, it has created a considerable valley on the edge of the Spessart and shapes the spa gardens of Bad Orb.
