24.08.2017 - At the forester's lodge you pass the beaver enclosure. The hand-mounted beaver is most likely to be seen in the afternoons and at dusk, assuming calm behavior. Unfortunately there were no beavers with me - Fotoscheu!

For over 14 years, Biber Flumy was a star in his enclosure and was well received by guests of all ages. Through the appropriate care Flumy could reach the considerable age of about 17 years. The natural life expectancy of a beaver in the wild is usually only 8 to 12 years.

In the beaver enclosure in the Upper Lobau, visitors have the opportunity to observe a beaver up close. An observation deck at the southern end of the enclosure provides a good overview of the beaver area.
