A chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary for pilgrimages to the Adlersberg was first mentioned in a petition for a bell to the bishop in 1703. In 1729, a request for approval of a new chapel was documented. The financing was to be secured by an officer who sought shelter in the old chapel during a battle on the Adlersberg. Years passed before the new building was built. The foundation stone was finally laid and the new church was consecrated in 1737. It took 4 years to complete. From 1745, a hermit lived permanently in the chapel. One of the hermits, Joseph Winkler, was buried in the anteroom of the chapel, as evidenced by a gravestone (source: tourismus-bw.de/Media/Touren/Bretten-Neibsheim-und-Buechig-Kapellenweg)

The chapel has an impressive baroque altar from 1763. Services are held in the chapel and it is often used for weddings.

Beautifully situated chapel with an altar worth seeing. A Way of the Cross leads from Neibsheim through a small ravine. There are also some benches. You have a good view over the hills of the Kraichgau.
