Reformed Church Solothurn
In 1867, 20 years after the Sonderbund War between conservatives and liberals, the Reformed diaspora community built the first church based on plans by Ferdinand Stadler. Due to immigration from reformed cantons in the course of industrialization, a larger new building soon became necessary. Today's church was built between 1922 and 1924 according to plans by Armin Meili. It is northwest of the old town.
Meili's neoclassical church is one of the last historicist church buildings in Switzerland and the last Swiss church that can be attributed to the pre-modern transverse church type.
