A very special gem greets you from afar in the south-west of the Kaiserstuhl - the St. Stephansmünster in Breisach. Located high on the Münsterberg, Breisach's landmark towers over the houses in the old town and the Rhine plain. Its two towers show the visitor the way to an interesting building that hides numerous treasures, outstanding works of art that should not be missed to be enjoyed. Romanesque and Gothic elements characterize the cathedral, which was probably begun in the late 12th century and completed around the late 15th century.
