    Lerwick is today a city of about 7000 inhabitants. In the past, great importance was attached to herring and whaling. Today, oil is mined on the Shetland Islands. The city has a relatively long pedestrian street and many beautiful houses adorn the image of the city.

      As part of a cruise you should always get off here. The city itself can easily be visited without a guide, as everything is very clear. Great old buildings and great pubs. A guided group travel by bus is also recommended if you want to see more of the island with its magnificent nature and lovable ponies.
