Gallocanta is the largest saltwater lagoon in Europe. It is a spectacular environment to enjoy nature and the popular cranes (there are viewpoints from where you can observe them with binoculars). The colors it gives us at sunset are beautiful.

Gallocanta Lagoon, located between Zaragoza and Teruel, is the largest natural lagoon on the Iberian Peninsula and a unique area due to its high salinity. Declared a nature reserve in 2006, it is one of the most important birdwatching spots in Spain, with more than 220 recorded species. Every autumn and spring, thousands of cranes stop here on their migrations, offering an unforgettable spectacle. The area is rich in trails and viewpoints, so it is recommended to bring binoculars and comfortable shoes to enjoy the wildlife and scenery at a leisurely pace.

The Laguna de Gallocanta is one of the largest lakes in Aragon and a well-known wintering ground for cranes – especially the European Grey Crane – among birdwatchers. This also makes the lagoon one of Europe's most important bird havens. The refuges on the lakeshore offer the ideal spot to undisturbedly observe these fascinating migratory birds, which stop here in the winter on their journey from Northern Europe to Africa.
