In the city bill of 1480 there is a note added later: "This year the Thurn is next to the Lintorffer Pfortzen, which is now called the Trinsen Torn." According to another source, it may have been built in 1471. It probably got its name from a part of the bridle for horses, the bridle.

The Trinsenturm is next to the Kornsturm and the Dicken Turm one of the three surviving towers of the old Ratinger city wall.
On a short tour around the city center of Ratingen you can experience all the towers and parts of the old wall very well.

Erected as a shell tower in the 2nd half of the 15th century, first open to the city side without a wall, then with a half-timbered wall and in the 20th century. closed with a quarry stone wall. The defensive loopholes have been preserved in the original. In the 13th century it served as a residential tower, then as a city archive and today as Ratinger toy museum.
