Great video by Beata B. - just great - nice memories are awakened - the tour from Travemünde to Niendorf along the steep coast we have hiked several times and ridden by bike - absolutely recommendable route - you can also go down the beach along the way hike - and eat delicious fish in Niendorf at the harbor with a great harbor view - that is the highlight of the tour :-)

The old lighthouse has become a real landmark of Travemünde. Its beacon showed the way to ships entering the Trave until 1972. Its history dates back to the 13th century, making it the oldest lighthouse on Germany's coast. It is worth climbing the 142 steps of the 31-meter-high lighthouse, because in good weather you can expect a view that stretches eastwards almost as far as Rostock, inland to Lübeck and far out to the Baltic Sea and the Bay of Lübeck. After the descent, you can visit the maritime museum housed in the lighthouse. There you can learn about the history of the Baltic Sea and seafaring in Travemünde.
