A dam in the east damms up the Kleiner Brombachsee, and its level fluctuates only slightly. The storage target is 410.6 m above sea level. NN[1] and the water, measured down to the level of the original stream valley, is up to 13.4 meters deep. The deepest places in the lake are at 388–387 m above sea level. NN[2], namely where sand was mined in pits for decades before the lake was flooded. The length of the bank is 8.5 kilometers.
The Kleiner Brombachsee drains into the Großer Brombachsee, whose level fluctuates more strongly, by up to 7 meters, between a storage target of 410.5 m above sea level. NN and a lowering target to 403.5 m above sea level. NN.
The dam with a height of up to 15.5 meters is designed as an intermediate dam to the Großer Brombachsee to the east, with a crown level of 413.5 m above sea level. NN and a length of 1.1 kilometers. To protect against undermining of the barrier structure, there is a sealing wall below the core that extends down to the bedrock.[1] There is a company building above the bottom outlet at the deepest point in the valley, approximately in the middle of the dam. A flood relief with two hydraulically driven lifting segments is located further south in the dam.
