You leave Fulda through parks. The paths to Santiago (Jakobusweg and Jakobsweg) divide below the Johannesberg provost and meet again in southern France before the Spanish border. The Way of St. James should be 80 km shorter. And then you are back between fields.
After Hammmerz you reach the forest and actually walk on the old army path. It's not very hiker-friendly, so I partially left the route. Once out of the forest, Monte Kali is the striking elevation in the plain near Neuhof. On the Monte Kali there is a 9m high oak cross (mountain cross), which glows at night.
The path ends in Flieden today. The church of St. Goar is noteworthy. In Flieden you can stay at the Gasthaus zum Ochsen for € 40 (with breakfast).
