산악자전거 라이딩
The Bigge Dam was built in the 1950s and 60s and dams the Bigge to form the very large Biggesee. The dam is very impressive and is over 50 meters high. In addition to generating electricity, its main purpose is to regulate the water level in winter to protect the lower-lying regions.

Its primary purpose is to store or release water as needed and thus ensure a consistent amount of water in the Ruhr. From the reservoir, water can be drained via the Bigge and Lenne rivers Up to 40 percent of the required additional water from all dams can be released into the Ruhr river system.
