For more than a hundred years, a memorial stone has stood on the northern edge of Döffingen, commemorating Count Ulrich of Württemberg, who fell here on August 23, 1388. The Ulrich Stone, bearing an inscription and coat of arms and surrounded by an iron grille, is 1.5 meters high. It was created by the Münklingen sculptor Johann Christian Stauch (1842-1905) on behalf of the municipality of Döffingen from red Hausen sandstone. The base stone comes from Schafhausen. Stauch chose the obelisk form, popular at the time for historical and heroic monuments: understated, impressive, and cost-effective.

The Ulrichstein is a historical monument in the municipality of Grafenau (Baden-Württemberg), which was erected in 1888, the 500th year of death of the count's son Ulrich von Württemberg.

The Ulrichstein is 1.50 meters high and consists of red sandstone.

Count Ulrich fell in the battle of Döffingen in 1388, which is considered the largest and bloodiest battle of the 14th century in all of southern Germany. He led the vanguard of the sovereign's army, which went into battle against the free imperial cities here.

The entire vanguard was wiped out. But his father Eberhard the Greiner, who came with the main army, managed to win the battle. The Battle of Döffingen is considered to be the decisive battle through which the power of the Swabian League of Cities was broken, and which thus made the Duchy and later the Kingdom of Württemberg possible.
