The monastery itself is located on a rock. To reach it drive through the elongated town of Paleokastritsa until you reach the coast. From there, a road leads uphill to the monastery. The monastery was founded in 1225 AD and stands in the middle of a picturesque landscape with its current construction from the 18th and 19th centuries.
