Actually, you can not see anything of the old Roman fort today. But it was there, as excavations have shown. Among the fields are still remains of the Limes and the fort. The planting of the area should illustrate to the visitor today the dimensions of the plant. A 1:10 scale model, also built there, clearly illustrates how the Roman fort actually looked.

The Römerpark Ruffenhofen is an archaeological park in the region Hesselberg in the south of the district Ansbach (Bavaria). On a total area of about 40 hectares, the Roman fort Ruffenhofen as well as large parts of the associated civil settlement are preserved underground and unconstructed.

The "Römerpark" is located in the area of the municipalities Gerolfingen, Weiltingen and Wittelshofen. These municipalities founded the "Zweckverband Römerkastell Ruffenhofen" in 2001 to develop, market and secure the area for tourism. In addition, the scientific investigation should be ensured. The ancient fortification is located about 2.2 kilometers from the Upper German-Rhaetian Limes. The fort is a Bodendenkmal after the Bavarian monument protection law.
