Well, more of a ruin than a castle. Overgrown and not accessible. But the castle pond is quite nice and offers a place to rest.

The moated castle was built in the 12th century, first mentioned in 1267, extended in the 14th century castle-like and was until the mid-15th century in the possession of the Rabe family, a side line of Trautenberger, which was widely branched in the Vogtland. - Johannes Rabe von Mechelgrün acquired in 1298 the castle Wildstein, the egerland ancestral seat of the family Notthaft, from his father-in-law Engelhard Notthaft.

In 1465 the complex was destroyed, rebuilt with four corner towers and received in 1475 in the eastern tower a chapel. - After 1670, the plant was burned down to the foundations, it was rebuilt in 1675 something new.

After the von Rabe family, the castle came to the lords of Trettau and then to the family Uibrig until 1945.

During reconstructions in the middle of the 19th century, two round towers were removed, the moat was partially filled and the access pond to the Rabenbach created the castle pond. In the 20th century, the plant decayed.
