The Spießhorn is 1,349 meters high and is largely forested. Its summit is located on the border between Bernau and St. Blasien and offers wonderful views.

Anyone who can wait a short while before taking a break should wait until the Krunkelbach hut. Nice meadow path just before the hut for a picnic

From the Spießhorn there is a wonderful view into and over the valley of the Menzenschwand Alb. In the valley in Menzenschwand-Vorderdorf almost every single house is clearly visible. If the visibility is good, the dome of the abbey church in Sankt Blasien can be seen in the distance.

From here it gets really exciting. If you like small rocky paths, where a small stream winds like a snake over and over again, you will get your money's worth here. If now the morning sun shines in the scar then you do not want to go on.

Very nice place to rest, rest and dine on your hike. On the round trip Hochtalsteig you come here. Here you have a very nice view of the valley towards Schluchsee and Albtal up to St. Blasien. When the weather is nice you can even see the Alps. Unfortunately no tables available for picnics. You need good shoes and stamina over stick and stone.

The shelter - actually more of a pavilion - has a wonderful view. In good weather, the view extends as far as the Alps. The valley of the Menzenschwand Alb lies at our feet.
