The monument is dedicated to the hero Benis from A. Aramin's film "A Little Confession", played by Vytautas Kernagis (sculptor Romas Kvintas) in 1971. It was decided to immortalize the maestro in Nida, because for many years he was closely associated with the Nida summer season opening festival "Benis, let's sail to Nida". The sculptor depicted V. Kernagis in life-size with his most important attribute - a guitar. Anyone can sit down and take a picture with the maestro. A bard's square - a mini concert space has been installed next to the sculpture.

"It was enough for "A Little Confession" to make Ben, played by the twenty-year-old Kernagis with a guitar and four songs, a legend. The phrase applied to this hero "Benis, let's sail to Nida" began to be called a cult and even became the slogan of the popular music festival in Nida, and the informal Ben of the Soviet era himself - a symbol of the festival." - From the book "Because I Didn't Know You Didn't Know", 2009.
