Bruckner House Linz
Artists who take their first chance here have both feet firmly on the career ladder. When first-class orchestras perform in the largest concert hall outside of Vienna, music becomes an “experience of intoxicating beauty” – this is how Herbert von Karajan felt at the opening concert on March 23, 1974 with the Vienna Philharmonic. The timelessly beautiful and for that time courageous architecture in harmonious combination with excellent acoustics let even the cool and matter-of-fact conductor get into exuberance. Today, the Brucknerhaus is a Linz landmark of international standing. What is played here must have quality.

The Brucknerhaus is a concert hall named after Anton Bruckner on the Danube in the provincial capital of Linz in Upper Austria.
The Concert and Event Hall, led by Linzer Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH (LIVA), was built in 1974 according to the plans of the Finnish architects Kaija and Heikki Sirén, with a special focus on outstanding acoustic properties. The opening of the Brucknerhaus with the conductor Herbert von Karajan and the Vienna Philharmonic took place on March 23, 1974 with a live broadcast of the ceremony in the 1st Program of the Austrian Television. Horst Stadlmayr was the first artistic director of the Brucknerhaus. [2]

With the Brucknerhaus the Brucknerfest was started as a music festival, where every year top-class international artists and ensembles perform. The Bruckner Orchestra Linz is connected to the Konzerthaus.

During the annual Ars Electronica Festival, symposia, concerts and the award ceremony of the Prix Ars Electronica will be held at the Brucknerhaus. The foyer will be used during this time to present individual projects and performances. The annual Linz Klangwolke is organized by the Brucknerhaus with the ORF.
