The Place Jacques-Cartier is a place in Montreal. It is located in the old town (Vieux-Montréal) in the Arrondissement Ville-Marie. The course leads from the Rue Notre-Dame on the west side with a considerable slope down to the Old Port on the east side. It is named after the French sailor Jacques Cartier.

Place Jacques-Cartier is a pedestrian plaza (in summer only) from Old Montreal to Montreal. To the north is Notre-Dame Street, Place Vauquelin adjacent to the Montreal City Hall. To the south, the rue de la Commune a few steps from the Old Port of Montreal. The sinuous Rue Saint-Paul crosses it. To the east: Ramezay Castle and Place De La Dauversière.

In hot weather, this place has a tourist vocation. There are flower dealers, caricaturists and other entertainers.
