The pottery museum is located in one of the most beautiful half-timbered houses in Kohren-Sahlis. It was built in 1763 as a pottery house and operated as a pottery workshop until 1957. The history of the Kohrener potters has been brought to life in the pottery museum since 1961. There were once 14 master potters and a potters' guild founded in 1656. In addition to the permanent exhibition with old Kohrener ceramics from the 17th to the 20th century, the guild jewels and working materials, an originally preserved pottery room can also be visited here.

Winter opening times in the pottery museum are as follows:

November:

Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The pottery museum is closed in December and January.

February and March:

Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Since we only work with a minimum number of staff in the winter months, unscheduled closings are possible, for which we ask for your understanding.

Please discuss a planned group visit with the museum staff in advance.
