At an altitude of around 620 meters, the Alteburg is one of the highest mountains in the Soonwald. On top of the wooded summit stands since 1893, the 20-meter high lookout tower. In addition to the observation deck, this also has a small shelter. The platform is freely accessible at all times and offers you a wonderful view over the wide landscape.
Just a few meters from the lookout tower is also the trekking site Alteburg on a former Köhlerplatz. All information about the trekking site can be found at soonwaldsteig.de/trekkingcamps/die-camps/trekkingcamp-alteburg.

Suddenly a tower in the middle of the forest ... many hikers around it (Soonwaldsteig) who tell the mountain biker who is not tower-savvy that the view is beautiful :-)

Very nice observation tower, but it is relatively well attended. For mountain bikers, the trail up or back down is more of a highlight :)
