The permanent exhibition was opened in 1979 in honor of Sigmund Jähn, born in Morgenröte-Rautenkranz, who was the first German in space. In 1990, it was converted into an all-German space travel exhibition, and in 2006-2007 a new building was inaugurated. Very interesting exhibition, with the highlight of the MIG-21 before.
