Well-maintained closed farm, where the buildings are arranged around a rectangular, paved courtyard. The original rectangular manure heap in the center of the yard was transformed into a green park with a pond. The core of the buildings date back to the second half of the 18th century, but has undergone modifications and expansions.

The Spanjaardhof is one of the oldest farms in the area. It is also sometimes called "Hof te
Steenberg", a name that some say refers to the quarries that were once quarried in the area. Others claim it is a reference to the Roman potsherds that were once found here. Later it was also called the court of Velasco , after the 16th-century Spanish nobleman, Don Diego Velasco, who moved in. The name Spanjaardhof also refers to this resident.The current closed farm with a rectangular courtyard dates from the 2nd half of the 18th century. This arable farm grows on the rich sandy loam soils, especially grains, sugar beets and potatoes.

In the 16th century, this court was part of one large domain with castle and water mill
and chapel and was originally called Hof te Steenberg. The current closed farm, with rectangular courtyard, dates from the 2nd half of the 18th century. This arable farm mainly grows grains, sugar beets and potatoes on the rich sandy loam soils.
The name "Spanjaardshof" comes from the manor of Steenberg, of which the farm, together with a castle, a chapel and a water mill, was part and was owned by Don Diego-Fernandez de Velasco at the end of the XVI. (Pasar)
